Monte AlbanOaxaca

Fly to the southeast region of Oaxaca with its breath-taking landscapes, magnificent architecture, delectable cuisine, and colourful folklore. See Oaxaca’s main attractions – the main cathedral, the Santa Catalina Convent; Santo Domingo Church; Santo Domingo Cultural Centre, including the Oaxacan Cultures Museum, the Burgoa Library and the Ethno Botanical Garden, Rufino Tamayo Museum of Pre-Hispanic Art, and the Zocalo. Visit the Monté Alban archaeological site, ancient capital of the Mesoamerican Zapotec civilization, two artisanal villages, a 1556 Dominican ex-convent, and a local market. Explore the Mitla archeological site, dating from 800 BC - famous for its intricate wall friezes, as well as the Tree of Tule, an artisanal village, and 16th century church.

MeridaMérida & the Yucatán
11-14 August

REGISTRATION FOR THIS TOUR HAS NOW CLOSED

The second four-day post-conference tour offered by FEMU and Monopolis Tours will fly to the Yucatán Peninsula. Participants will stay in Mérida, a city of diverse culture and rich history, with ornate colonial architecture and abundant ancient Mayan ruins dotting the surrounding countryside. Among the city’s attractions are a magnificent 16th century cathedral, the Governor’s Palace and museums presenting the art and history of the peninsula. One day will be spent exploring the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, a UNESCO World Heritage site recently voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. Another day participants will visit the archaeological site of Uxmal, one of the finest examples of the ornate Puuc style of Mayan architecture. One evening the group will experience a typical Yucatan dinner.
