Postgraduate Awards (Masters and Higher)
- Mary Agard Pocock Award - Botany and related studies. Annual. Deadline 31 October.
- Bertha Stoneman Award- Botany and related studies, including environmental studies. Annual. Deadline 31 October.
- Isie Smuts Award – Any field. Annual but with option to renew. Deadline 31 October.
- SAAWG Fellowship International Award - for a foreign student enrolled with a South African University for at least one year for postgraduate research. Triennial. Deadline 31 October.
Undergraduate Awards
These are administered by SAAWG but applicants are chosen by the relevant tertiary institution.
Student Aid Grant - All tertiary (Universities and Universities of Technology) institutions may apply. Their nominee must be at least a second-year female student. Applicants must apply through their universities.
Edna Machanick Award - Different geographical area each year. Awarded to a woman who has successfully completed at least the first year of any course leading to a diploma at a university or FET college. Deadline 31 October.
Branch Awards and Bursaries These are administered by the branches themselves. Selection of the successful recipient is done by the relevant tertiary institution. Deadline 31 October:
Loris P Martin Scholarship Fund - For female scholar who wishes to study for a Nursing Diploma, Diploma in Occupational Therapy or Diploma in Dressmaking and Tailoring.
Audrey Warton Henley Scholarhips Fund - For a female scholar who wished to study for a Diploma or Degree in Fine Arts or a Diploma in Speech and Drama.
SAAWG Friendship Bursary - For a female who has successfully completed at least the first year of any course leading to a Diploma or Degree (University, University of Technology or FET College - any discipline/field)
Scholarships
Hansi Pollak Scholarship - Postgraduate research directed towards bettering social conditions in South Africa. The recipient is required to spend at least two years in South Africa after completing the degree, implementing the results of the research. Biennial. Deadline 30 September.

Joan Whitmore Scholarship - Postgraduate study or research in the broad field of engineering at a university or university of technology. Applicants must show evidence of the relevance of their study or research to the development of South Africa, and of their community service. This scholarship is administered by the University of Pretoria.
